Feel Better and THEN Internet Outage ... UGH!

I will not complain, I will not complain, I will not complain ... OK, so I'm going to complain.  For over a week now, my internet carrier ... CHARTER COMMUNICATIONS ... has been down in the afternoon and evenings.  I finally was able to call today and the person on the other end of the phone could actually see that I had had internet outages in the afternoon.  Tomorrow someone is coming out to 'check the lines' and see what the problem is ... and I told them I wasn't paying for a service call.  ... Please AT&T get Uverse on my street.  OK, I'm finished complaining.

Today was the first day since Sunday that I actually had energy and felt better.  I had a smidge more appetite too.  It's amazing how an appetite can make you feel happy.

So to catch up on what's been going on.  Well you know about the stomach bug ... oh it is going around. Today was my rescheduled appointment for my four week post chemo blood check and to see Helena, Oncologist Nurse Practitioner as well as my appointment with the radiation people.  First, I got my blood drawn and then went to wait for my appointment with Helena.  The wait to get in to see her because they run a little (ok sometimes seems like alot) behind but not going to complain.  They are awesome and so good to me when it's my turn (appointment).  Helena told me my counts were high in the white counts which was because I had been sick and my red counts were a little low but all in all she was happy with the report.  She went over radiation procedures, told me her experience from radiation, ask me if I had questions, showed me her 'blue dot' tattoes that you get for radiation markers, put the order in for the girls to make me an appointment with the surgeon to get my port removed (YEA!), and gave me the biggest hug and sent me on my way.  I am so blessed to have such a wonderful loving caring medical team.

So my next stop was at the check out desk and that's the person who makes the appointment with the surgeon.  She told me to come back before I left ... after my visit with the radiation office.  I told her I would.  YEA YEA YEA Praise the Lord ... the port will be removed in Dr. B's office at the Center on April 18th at noon.

I went to the Radiation Office and was called back immediately.  This was my question/answer visit and to get the particulars of what would go on as far as radiation.  When we first sat down, Jennifer, Radiologist Physician Assistant, ask me if I had any questions.  I told her this was my first time for radiation and I didn't know what to ask.  *** Well would you?  I didn't know... I've never done this before.  She proceeds to walk me through the process for today and tell me what to expect, how things are calculated with a very fine art, etc.  Then she gives me the consent form which lists out all the possible side affects, etc.  I signed on the solid line and it's a done deal.  I was then taking to the dressing rooms where I put on one of the lovely gowns and sat in the waiting area.  Soon Vanessa, one of the radiation specialist, came and took me to the CAT scan room where I was exposed (there ain't nothing to see <smile>) and she put a square tape area on my left side of my chest.  She ran me through the CAT scan thing which gives the radiation team the pictures they need to do all the fine tuning as far as where my radiation should be administered and ensuring they miss my left lung and heart.  Prayers Please!!!!!  The slide through the CAT scan went smoothly, when I got out, she pulled the tape off of and gave me my "dot tattoes".  I will begin radiation next Wednesday ... having 33 treatments which by the way ... the radiation itself takes two minutes.  When I figured the 33 treatments up ... Praise the Lord ... I will finish radiation the Friday before Memorial Day weekend and before my next grand baby gets here on May 30 (if not sooner).

Now on to the garden ... I have taken some pictures and oh my goodness how my little garden grows.

I met more beautiful wonderful new survivor sisters today a The Center.  Each and every one of them bless my life.  Please pray for all of us as we are all walking this journey.

I pray you are preparing for a wonderful Easter weekend and will be worshiping our Lord.  He has done so much for me and my family.  Thank you sweet Jesus.

I'm tired tonight and I have hurt my right shoulder ... please pray that it begins to heal soon.  It's very painful and so sore that I cannot determine what really is hurt.

Blessed and praying many blessings over each person who reads my blog.
